Brief summary of the Choir

Pueri Cantores Plocenses was founded in 1998 by Anna and Victor Bramski. The Choir is united in The National and International Federation of Pueri Cantores, which associates boys, children and youth, choirs from all over the world. At the moment, there are 170 members of the choir – school children and youths from Płock – between 7 and 24 years old.
Apart from singing in the choir children learn self-discipline and team working responsibilities. They are working as well on self-criticism and their power of mental concentration. Above all they have a chance to experience great joy in creating beautiful music and serving it to others.
The main objective of the Choir is to sing liturgical pieces. Repertory of the Choir consists of works from each epoch – beginning from medieval Gregorian chorale up to modern compositions.
The Choir performs great cantata-oratorian works of music, such as:

  • W. A. Mozart “C-moll Mass”
  • W. A. Mozart “Coronation Mass”
  • W. A. Mozart “Requiem”
  • Ch. Gounod “Solemnis Mass”
  • A. Vivaldi “Gloria”
  • A. Dvorak “Stabat Mater”
  • G. Pergolesi “Stabat Mater”
  • L. van Beethoven “Mass C-Dur, op. 86”
  • G. Rossini “Stabat Mater”

Apart from mentioned above, the Choir is also performing polyphony (Orlande de Lassus, William Byrd), Christmas carols, patriotic pieces and folk songs.
In Poland, Pueri Cantores Plocenses cooperates with such institutions as: Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera, National Philharmonic, Symphony of Varsovia and The Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.
Abroad, the Choir is cooperating with National Ukrainian Dumka Choir, Choir “Dudaryk” from Lvov and National Philharmonic Choir from Minsk.
Pueri Cantores Plocenses during its 14 years of existence developed from being a local cathedral choir up to being a professional choir performing on festivals around the whole Poland and Europe achieving many significant awards, among others:

  • Gold Tuning Fork on the XXII Polish A capella Children and Youth Choir Competition (2002)
  •  Twice 1st Prize in the Cantino Lodzensis Competition (2000,2002)
  • 1st Prize in the Warsaw Music Axcademy Competition (2003)
  • Diploma for original performance of sacred hymns in polish language in VII Polish Gospel Choir Competition during International Gospel Music Camp Meeting in Osiek (2003)
  • Golden medal and two silver ones on International Festa Musicale in Olomuniec – Czech (2004)
  • Silver Tuning Fork on XXVII Polish A capella Children and Youth Choir Competition (2007)
  • 2nd Prize on the International festival of Days Of Church Slavic music in Hajnow (2007)
  • twice 2nd Prize on Moscow International festival of Children and Youth Choir “MOSCOW SOUNDS” (2008,2010)
  • four golden medals and two silver ones on International Festival Slovakia Cantat in Bratislava (2013)

During the existence of the choir, they were performing in many European countries such as: Italy, Vatican, Ukraine, France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Germany, Spain, England and Russia.
They have already recorded CD albums:

  • “Stabat Mater” – A. Dvorak
  • “In tribute to Bach genius”
  • “C-Dur, op.86 Mass” – L. van Beethoven
  • “Requiem” – W. A. Mozart
  • “Z nieba wysokiego” – Polish Christmas carols
  • „Kronungsmesse” – W. A. Mozart
  • „Harmoniemesse” – J. Haydn

Variety and creative exploration of Pueri Cantores Plocenses caused them to star in two movies: „Adam Mickiewicz” – directed by Tadeusz Bystram and „Moja Australia” – directed by Ami Drozda.
The choir took part in the performance of the opera “La Boheme” of G. Puccini.

Brief summary of Anna and Victor Bramski

Anna and Victor Bramski are originators and founders of Pueri Cantores Plocenses boys choir. In 1995, they came from Riga to Płock.
Anna Bramska who conducts the choir is an educated pedagogue. She graduated from University in Riga. She devoted all her life to music which is her great passion.
Victor Bramski is the church organist in the Cathedral Basilica in Płock and artistic manager of the choir. He graduated Music Academy in Riga in trombone class. Apart from that he was studying organs which he loves the most.
Anna and Victor contribution into cultural development of Płock, promotion of the city and Poland was appreciated many times. They were chosen in 2000 to be “People of the City”. In 2002, for special achievements in culture they received prize of the Mayor of the City of Płock. In 2004, they were honored to be “Meritorious Culture Campaigners” by the Ministry of Culture. In the same year, for their great contribution in culture of Mazovia Voivodeship they received an award from Marshal of Mazovia Voivodeship.
Huge experience, great success and many other privileges allowed them to establish in 2006 “Puellae Cantantes Plocenses” girls choir.
Anna and Victor Bramski and the Choir are indisputable ambassadors of Płock’s culture.
